I’ve had mine for the last 5 or 6 years and it’s been one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite. One of the best returning boomerangs I’ve got. Takes hardly any practice to get to come back but of course takes a bit more to get it to come back consistently (much like others of course). Definitely recommend for beginners and experts alike.
Just received the avenger wooden boomerang today, haven't had a chance to see how it flies yet so this review will just be from my initial impressions. It is a bit smaller than I expected, 10 1/2" from tip to tip. Looking at the picture posted here, zoomed in appears full size. Had to take off 1 star for a flaw in the paint, the triangles do not appear as sharp as they do in the image here. One is not centered correctly on one of the wings and is overlapping the bezel, almost touching the edge; another was not printed correctly and appears faded. Item appears to be screen printed so I'm sure each model will vary slightly. While it is a minor annoyance it in no way ruins the overall visual effect of this stylish boomerang. I can't wait to go to the woods and lose it forever.
My grandson won't try it he's afraid of losing it.
Any ideas to keep it from going far.
I have been making and throwing boomerangs for years, and this design has incredible throwing consistency. This boomerang is perfect for anyone wanting to learn how to throw. I have gotten returns off this rang while throwing from a chair. Jim Mayfield was an expert at designing rangs, and this is one of his best designs. I am still throwing one of his originals from 95’ when it was orange and red. If the rang is in stock, I would recommend buying, as it is frequently sold out most of the year.
10/10 still one of my favorites.
If you have mastered throwing the Aspen (beginner boomerangs), the Alpine makes a great "next step up" boomerang. You will need a little more precision, control and muscle but will be rewarded with further flights that are very impressive. Great boomerang.
This boomerang requires an arm to throw it but it has some crazy distance. Highly recommend for someone with experience!
The Aspen is by far the best boomerang for anyone starting out in the sport. I started with the Aspen 20 years ago and progressed through increasingly advanced boomerang including the Jim Mayfield designed Delicate Arch SE. But I always warm up with and continue to throw my Aspen. It is such a fun boomerang that I bought one for my 13 year old son as his first boomerang. Keep throwing, keep growing.
These are amazing little flyers. The moderate forward sweep allows you to control mid-flight lay over just enough to fly inside without high ceilings. By modifying the throw speed, release angle and spin, you can really get some cool flights... even with very little arm strength. You can even experiment with adding (very light) weights to the wing tips. An outstanding value; I have a stack of these for turning friends on to the sport.
I have not seen it....had it sent to my grandson as a birthday gift, he really loves it.
My 6 year old son has a blast throwing this boomerang. Works great I would recommend.
I was impressed with the Seagull boomerang. Smooth controlled flight. Never seen or used a boomerang that was SO easy to use. I hate to tip everyone off because I want more for my family. It is a well made quality product exceeded only by Colorado Boomerang Customer Service.
Just need a bigger open space
